Thank You to our First Responders – Our Heroes!

Black soot covers homes, families are displaced and first responders are stretched thin. Fire season arrived early and ferociously in San Diego. Protecting and preventing disasters and taking care of our community when disasters occur are the work of the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department. Each day, these brave men and women leave their families behind to risk their lives to help our community. Without question, they are heroes.

But our city government can only do so much to support public services. Charitable partnerships have proven to be an effective means of meeting the needs of the Department to help it meet its one true goal: serving the citizens of San Diego. The San Diego Fire-Rescue Department serves not only the City of San Diego, but when the need arises, our entire region as well, as has been most evident with the fires in May.

The San Diego Fire Rescue Foundation works directly with the Department to identify unmet equipment, training and technology needs. A gift to the San Diego Fire Rescue Foundation will help provide our first responders with the necessary tools they need to support our community during a major wildfire, in addition to the hundreds of emergency calls they respond to each and every day.
