On Saturday, January 14th, 2012, Ideal Plumbing, Heating, Air & Electrical gave back to the local community by volunteering assistance to the San Diego Boy Scouts’ camp, Mataguay Scout Ranch.
Indian Rock Camp Headquarters at Mataguay was one of the areas damaged by the Fires of San Diego County. The Headquarters needed a new water heater and faucet for the cabin. Ideal’s knowledgeable plumbers donated the parts, materials, and labor for a new water heater and faucet, while also giving some instruction to the Boy Scouts from troops 978 and 386. The Boy Scouts each learned some hands-on skills for the plumbing work.
In addition to the plumbing work, there were significant electrical repairs needed. Berg Electric, a Western Electrical Contractor’s Association (WECA) member, donated labor and the bulk of the electrical material to complete the project, which included a 100 amp panel, fluorescent light fixtures, conduit, and wire. A WECA Apprentice from Helix Electric contributed skilled labor to the project.
Ideal Plumbing, Heating, Air & Electrical works closely with the community to make a positive social impact. Ideal’s philanthropic efforts are not aimed at one single project, but take an all-embracing approach. These experiences create a culture of service at Ideal and help employees look outward and focus on other’s needs instead of their own.
