Ideal Plumbing Heating Air & Electrical provides greater access to AED (Automatic External Defibrillator) through community donation
We believe access to Automatic External Defibrillators (AEDs) and awareness of what they are, and how they work, is imperative to the well-being and preparedness of our community. That’s why we recently donated an AED to Mt. Helix Park.
“An automated external defibrillator (AED) is a lightweight, portable device that delivers an electric shock through the chest to the heart. The shock can potentially stop an irregular heart beat (arrhythmia) and allow a normal rhythm to resume following sudden cardiac arrest (SCA). SCA occurs when the heart malfunctions and stops beating unexpectedly. If not treated within minutes, it quickly leads to death.” (Source: American Heart Association, heart.org)
Ideal worked closely with San Diego Project Heart Beat to install the AED at Mt. Helix Park in La Mesa, where Don Teemsma serves as a board member. We also installed an AED in Ideal’s office. San Diego Project Heart Beat provided free in-service training, which is included in their program management services.
Could your organization benefit from an AED? We’re looking for two places in our community that need an AED — maybe a Little League field or a church or another public place. If you’re interested, please contact natalie@idealService.com.
