(San Diego, CA – December 7, 2018) Better Business Bureau serving Pacific Southwest named Ideal Plumbing, Heating, Air & Electrical one of 5 Southern California companies selected as winners of the 2018 Torch Awards for Ethics. Winners in each category were named during the awards lunch and ceremony Friday, December 7th at the Hyatt Regency La Jolla at Aventine.
“The Torch Awards have given us the opportunity to show the San Diego business community our commitment to ethics and our customers,” says Don Teemsma, President/CEO of Ideal. “We have made a conscious effort to conduct our business with integrity in the name of enhancing excellence in our marketplace. We are a business consumers can trust and the Torch Awards have given us the platform to share that.”
The BBB Torch Awards for Ethics were established to recognize outstanding businesses that maintain a solid commitment to ethics and trust in the marketplace. Companies are selected by an independent panel of volunteer community leaders based on criteria established by the Council of Better Business Bureau’s International Torch Award.
All finalists completed an evaluation where they demonstrated their commitment to ethics in six categories:
- Leadership’s Commitment to Ethical Practices
- Communication of Ethical Practices
- Leadership Practices to Unify the Organization
- Organizational Commitment to Performance Management Practices
- Organizational Commitment to Ethical Human Resource Practices
- Organizational Commitment to the Community
